These terms are the agreement between you and Karma Kai Design Studio, Unipessoal Lda. for using Brizka: the Chrome extension, the server it talks to (api.brizka.com) and this website (brizka.com). They cover the free plan and Brizka Pro, the paid plan. By using Brizka, you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, please don't use Brizka.
How we handle personal data is explained separately, in our Privacy Policy.
The short version
- Brizka is free to use, with limits. Brizka Pro is an optional paid subscription.
- Paddle.com sells Pro as our reseller and merchant of record. Paddle takes the payment and handles refunds.
- Pro renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and Pro stays until the end of the period you paid for.
- Changed your mind? Ask within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund (once per account, on your first Pro subscription).
- Summaries are written by AI and can be wrong. Check the video before you rely on one.
- Use Brizka for yourself, within the law and YouTube's rules.
- Portuguese law applies, and you keep the consumer protections of the country where you live.

Brizka and its plans
Brizka is a Chrome extension that uses AI to summarize YouTube videos. When you ask, it reads the captions of the video you're watching and writes a summary with key points and timestamps. It works only on videos with captions, and not on live streams.
Brizka has two plans:
- Free. Your first 2 summaries work without an account (in total, not per day). After that, a free account gives you 3 new summaries a day. Videos can be up to 45 minutes long.
- Pro. A paid subscription with 50 new summaries a day, under the fair-use rules, and videos up to 4 hours long. Pro writes the same summaries as the free plan.
Shared summaries are free on both plans and don't count toward a limit. A shared summary is one that someone already asked for: the same video, with the same settings. Daily counts reset at midnight UTC. Our Pricing page shows the current limits and prices.
Accounts and age
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Brizka, or older if the law of your country requires it.
- To buy Pro, you must be at least 18 years old, or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
- You sign in with your email address and a one-time code. Keep your email account secure: anyone who can read your email can sign in to Brizka as you. If you think someone else is using your account, tell us at support@brizka.com.
- Each account is for one person. Pro belongs to the account you were signed in with when you bought it.
Buying Pro through Paddle
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides customer service for all inquiries about orders and payments, and handles returns (for Brizka, that means refunds).
This means:
- When you buy Pro, you buy it from Paddle, and Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to the purchase. Depending on where you live, the seller is Paddle.com Market Ltd (United Kingdom) or one of its affiliates, such as Paddle.com Inc. in the United States. Your receipt shows which one.
- Paddle takes the payment, works out and collects the tax, and emails you receipts and invoices. Paddle keeps your payment details. We never see your full card number, and we don't store any payment details.
- We provide Brizka and Pro to you under these terms. For help with Brizka itself, write to support@brizka.com.
- Where our Refund Policy gives you more than Paddle's Buyer Terms, our Refund Policy applies, and we ask Paddle to make the refund.
- Paddle handles your personal data as an independent controller, under its own privacy notice.
Payment, renewal and cancellation
Price. Pro is paid monthly or yearly, in advance. Our Pricing page shows the prices, and the extension shows them for your country. Paddle's checkout shows the full amount, with any tax, before you pay.
Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year, for another period of the same length, at the same price, until you cancel. Paddle charges the payment method you used. Where the law requires it, Paddle reminds you by email before a yearly subscription renews.
Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Paddle tries again over the following days, and Pro keeps working meanwhile. If Paddle can't collect the payment, the subscription stops and your account goes back to the free plan.
Refunds and chargebacks. If a payment is refunded in full, or your bank reverses it (a chargeback), the subscription is cancelled and Pro stops straight away.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time: choose "Manage subscription" in Brizka (in its toolbar popup, or in Settings under Account), use the link in any email from Paddle about your subscription, or go to paddle.net. Cancelling stops future payments. Pro stays until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then your account goes back to the free plan. Cancelling doesn't refund the current period by itself (see Withdrawal and refunds). Uninstalling Brizka doesn't cancel your subscription.
Price changes. We may change Pro's price, for example when our costs or taxes change. A new price never applies to a period you have already paid for. We'll email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your subscription. You can cancel before then. If you don't, the new price applies from your next renewal.
Withdrawal and refunds
Our Refund Policy explains refunds in full. In short:
- 14-day refund. Ask within 14 days of your first payment, whether you pay monthly or yearly, and you get the full amount back, for any reason. This applies to your first Pro subscription, once per account. Your subscription is then cancelled and Pro stops.
- Right of withdrawal. If you're a consumer in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have 14 days from your purchase to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason. In Brazil, you have 7 days (Código de Defesa do Consumidor, art. 49) and get back everything you paid. You can withdraw with the withdrawal button in Paddle's customer portal (open it with "Manage subscription" in Brizka, or from Paddle's emails), by asking at paddle.net, or with any clear statement, such as an email to support@brizka.com. These rights apply each time you start a new subscription. On your first Pro subscription, our 14-day refund gives you all your money back, even if you have already used Pro. On a later one, a refund in the EU, the EEA or the UK follows the law, which can let the seller keep an amount for the days you already used Pro.
- Renewals. Renewal payments aren't refunded, unless the law requires it or something went wrong on our side, such as a charge made by mistake or Pro not working.
- Paddle makes all refunds, to the payment method you used.
Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
Fair use
Pro's 50 new summaries a day is a fair-use cap. On any plan, Brizka is for one person's own use. You must not:
- use Brizka through scripts, bots or other automated means, or to summarize videos in bulk;
- resell, rent or sublicense Brizka or access to it, or offer its summaries to others as a service;
- share your account or let other people use it;
- try to get around the limits, for example by creating several accounts or by reinstalling Brizka to get more free summaries.
If an account or install breaks these rules, we may limit it (see Suspension and termination).
Acceptable use
You must not use Brizka, or the summaries it writes, to:
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights, including copyright and privacy;
- create or spread illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, or sexual content about anyone without their consent;
- impersonate anyone, or make deepfakes or other content that uses someone's identity, voice or likeness without their consent;
- harass, threaten or bully anyone, or promote hatred or violence;
- find, collect or publish someone's personal information without their permission;
- deceive or defraud anyone, or spread content you know is false;
- create or spread malware or spam.
You also must not:
- try to get around Brizka's safeguards, or trick its AI into producing content these rules don't allow;
- attack, overload or disrupt Brizka or its server, probe them for weaknesses without our permission, or access them other than through the extension;
- copy, modify or reverse engineer Brizka, except where the law allows it.
You are responsible for the videos you ask Brizka to summarize and for how you use the summaries. Only summarize videos you're allowed to watch. We may remove shared summaries that break these rules or the law. If you find a security problem in Brizka, please tell us at support@brizka.com.
AI summaries
- Brizka's summaries are written by AI, using models from OpenAI, from the video's captions. Brizka labels them as AI-generated.
- AI makes mistakes. A summary can be wrong, incomplete or out of context. The captions it is based on can contain errors too, especially auto-generated ones.
- A summary is not professional advice, whether medical, legal, financial or any other kind. Don't rely on a summary alone for an important decision. Watch the relevant part of the video (the timestamps take you there) and, where it matters, ask a qualified professional.
- A summary repeats what is said in the video. It doesn't express our views, and we don't check videos for accuracy.
- You decide how to use the summaries, and you are responsible for that use.
YouTube videos
- Brizka is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by YouTube or Google. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC.
- Videos, their captions and their content belong to their owners. Brizka gives you no rights to them.
- Brizka doesn't download, host or redistribute videos. It reads the captions of the video open in your browser to write a summary, and our server doesn't keep the captions.
- Use YouTube within YouTube's Terms of Service.
- Summaries are for your personal use. Don't publish them in bulk, sell them, or use them to replace the original videos.
Takedown requests. If you own rights in a video and think a summary of it infringes them, write to support@brizka.com with a link to the video. We'll look at your request promptly and remove the shared summaries of that video if they infringe your rights. To have a summary removed because it contains personal data about you, see People who appear in videos in our Privacy Policy.
Intellectual property
Brizka, including its software, design, name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use Brizka under these terms, for as long as they apply. These terms give you no other rights to Brizka.
You may use the summaries Brizka writes for you, within these terms and the rights of the videos' owners. We don't claim any rights in the videos or their content. Brizka keeps each new summary as a shared summary, which it can show to anyone who asks for the same video with the same settings.
Availability and changes to Brizka
- We work to keep Brizka running well, but we can't promise that it will always be available or free of errors. Brizka depends on YouTube, on videos having captions, and on our providers. YouTube can change its site in ways that stop Brizka from working until we update it.
- We may pause new summaries for a while, for example for maintenance, to stop abuse, or if our costs for a day run unusually high. Shared summaries may still work during a pause.
- We may improve Brizka and change or remove features. If a change reduces what Pro gives you in a way that matters, we'll tell you at least 30 days before. You can then cancel, and we'll refund the part of your paid period that you won't use.
- If we stop offering Pro, we'll tell you at least 30 days before, stop all renewals, and refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.
Your legal guarantees. If you're a consumer, the law guarantees that the digital service you get matches what was agreed and works as it should (in Portugal, Decreto-Lei 84/2021). These terms don't exclude or limit those guarantees. If Pro doesn't work as it should, tell us at support@brizka.com. We'll fix it. If we can't, you are entitled to a price reduction or to end the contract with a refund, as the law provides.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability:
- for harm that we, or people acting for us, cause intentionally or through gross negligence;
- for harm to anyone's life, health, or physical or moral integrity;
- for damage to property that we cause outside our contract with you;
- for anything else the law doesn't allow us to exclude or limit, including your mandatory rights as a consumer.
In all other cases, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Brizka Pro in the 12 months before the event that caused the loss. We are not responsible for YouTube, its videos or their content, or for other services that Brizka doesn't control.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using Brizka at any time. To stop paying for Pro, cancel your subscription (see Payment, renewal and cancellation).
We may limit, suspend or block an account or an install, or stop it getting new summaries, if it breaks these terms (especially the rules on fair use and acceptable use), if the law requires it, or if we need to protect Brizka, its users or others from harm. Unless it's urgent or the law prevents it, we'll tell you first, explain why, and give you a chance to fix the problem. If you disagree, write to support@brizka.com.
If we block an account that has a Pro subscription, we also cancel the subscription in Paddle, so you aren't charged for time you can't use. If we end your Pro because you seriously broke these terms, we don't refund the rest of the period, unless the law requires it. If we end it for any other reason, we refund the unused part of the period you have paid for.
We may stop offering Brizka altogether. We'll tell you at least 30 days before, in the extension or by email.
Deleting your account
- You can ask us to delete your account at any time: email privacy@brizka.com from your account's email address. Our Privacy Policy explains what we delete and when (see Your rights).
- If your account has a Pro subscription that isn't cancelled, we cancel it in Paddle before deleting the account.
- Deleting your account ends its Pro straight away. It doesn't refund the rest of the period, unless you ask for a refund that our Refund Policy or the law gives you.
- Paddle keeps its own records of your purchases, as tax law requires.
- Signing out or uninstalling Brizka doesn't delete your account.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we change Brizka, its plans or prices, or when the law changes. For changes that affect your rights or what you pay, we'll tell you in the extension or by email at least 30 days before they apply. Changes the law requires may apply sooner. Corrections and clearer wording that don't affect your rights apply when we publish them.
If you don't accept a change, you can stop using Brizka and cancel Pro before the change applies. If the change is to your disadvantage and you cancel because of it, we refund the unused part of your paid period. If you keep using Brizka after a change applies, the new terms apply to you.
The date at the top shows when these terms were last updated.
Governing law and courts
Portuguese law governs these terms. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of the country where you live. Choosing Portuguese law doesn't take that protection away.
You can take a dispute to the courts of Portugal. If you're a consumer, you can also go to the courts where you live, as the law allows.
Complaints and dispute resolution
If something goes wrong, please tell us first, at support@brizka.com. We'll try to put it right. For a problem with a payment, you can also contact Paddle at paddle.net.
Complaints book. You can also complain in Portugal's electronic complaints book, the Livro de Reclamações Eletrónico, at www.livroreclamacoes.pt.
Alternative dispute resolution. If we can't settle a dispute with you, as a consumer you can take it to a consumer arbitration centre:
- CIMAAL, Centro de Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo do Algarve: www.consumoalgarve.pt;
- CNIACC, Centro Nacional de Informação e Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo: www.cniacc.pt;
- or the consumer arbitration centre for the area where you live in Portugal.
For disputes worth up to €5,000, if you choose to take the dispute to one of these centres, we must take part (Lei 24/96, art. 14). More information is available on the Portal do Consumidor, www.consumidor.gov.pt.
General
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce a right straight away, we don't give it up.
- These terms are available in English and in European Portuguese. If the two versions ever differ, the one more favourable to you applies.
